Break the Ice with Montblanc’s 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen

Montblanc breaks all barriers of innovation and creativity with their entry for Only Watch 2023. Meet the one-of-a-kind 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen. It comes encased in—wait for it—a BLOCK OF ICE! How cool is that?

Joke’s aside, the feat accomplished by the maison is no laughing matter. The middle case of the timepiece is made of a new material, CARBO2, with captured CO2 inside, and the whole creation is encased in the block of ice (within safe breakable glass) without oxygen inside. The 43.5mm case features a luminous glacier with a blue outline highlighting the peaks of the Mount Everest, and the titanium case back is adorned with a beautiful 3D-lasered image of the world’s highest mountain above sea-level.

The unique Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen timepiece sets the stage for the watchmaker’s new collection of Zero Oxygen timepieces, which will be released in April 2024. This creation is powered by the MB 29.25 automatic movement, which includes a world time complication: turning Northern and Southern Hemisphere globes, a 24-hour scale, day and night indications, dual time display, and a date.

The watch comes with a fluted bi-direction black ceramic bezel with compass cardinal points and OW (Only Watch) depicting West. It is available in an electric blue glacier pattern dial.
