I recently had the privilege of attending the F1 COTA (Circuit of the Americas) race in Austin, Texas. Chris Gandolfo, EVP of North America OCI and AI Sales, and Jack Harrington, Partnerships Group Lead at Red Bull Racing, gave us a fantastic walkthrough of the technological marvel that the team achieves 24 times a year in races across the globe.
While the racing itself is obviously impressiveÑas, of course, are the Oracle Red Bull drivers!Ñthe technology behind the scenes is especially thrilling. Through billions of race simulations on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Pérez get an extra edge in strategy as well as real-time insights on performance and other decision-sharpening factors. It’s extraordinary what cloud-powered strategy can do for race strategy, engine development, fan engagement, and more.
Even if you’re not a Formula 1 fan, I can’t recommend the fan zone experience enough. The level of precision and innovation at play is truly mind-blowing, and it’s something I wish everyone could witness. Personally, I can’t wait to see how cloud-based computing plays into their plans for a new hybrid powered unit in the 2026 racing season, but the team is also the mastermind behind so many other exciting innovations, like the TAG Heuer Connected Calibre E4 45MM x Oracle Red Bull Racing Edition timepiece (a smartwatch with a suite of cutting-edge features that cater to the needs of racing enthusiasts and tech-savvy individuals alike).
Seeing the Oracle and Red Bull partnership up close, it’s clear why they’re the winning team!
