For the fourth time, Zermatt, the iconic Swiss Alpine resort town nestled at the base of Matterhorn mountain, has inspired a beautiful set of partner timepieces. Hublot, the Swiss Alps’ own innovative leader of horology, has created the Hublot Big Bang Zermatt—a representation of mother nature at her finest with the steep, jagged, and rugged shape of the Matterhorn, carved over hundreds of millions of years, juxtaposed with the perfect, modern lines of the contemporary manufacture.
Both versions come with a steel case reminiscent of the 2018 Zermatt edition by Hublot. The sunray finished dials echo the unique reflection of schist, a typical Swiss stone similar to the slate that forms a large part of the Matterhorn. One model comes with the Matterhorn at 9 o’clock while the other features this design at the 3 o’clock position. The latter is also beautifully set with 36 diamonds that punctuate the hour indices.
Both of these exquisite timepieces aren’t all for show: they also come powered with a self-winding chronograph complemented by two nubuck straps—one in slate gray, and the other in snow white—that serve as a dual tribute to the iconic colors of Zermatt.
What are you waiting for? If you’re one for mastering the Matterhorn, you can’t do it without the Hublot Big Bang Zermatt on your wrist.
