Atlantic Convergence 2024 was a very special event that brought together leaders from North America, Europe, South America, and Africa to unite through a common theme: advancing digital infrastructure.
Held in beautiful Lisbon, Portugal, this inaugural event took place on October 1–3, 2024. Attendees explored how digital transformation is reshaping global data flows and influencing the geostrategy of nations. From data centers to subsea cables, terrestrial fiber, and enterprises, governments, institutions and regulators all sectors of the industry converged to work toward crafting a shared and interconnected future.
Presented by its founding members DE-CIX, AtlasEdge, EllaLink, Interfiber Networks, Camtel, and Altice Wholesale Solutions, the event featured InterGlobix as a strategic and media partner involved in the planning, coordination, content curation, and promoting. InterGlobix Magazine’s Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Jasmine Bedi, attended Atlantic Convergence 2024 and met with some of the key leaders who were speakers at this unique event. In celebration of this partnership and the significance of this marquee event, the first installment of this story offers an overview of the conference itself from one of its organizers, DE-CIX CEO Ivo Ivanov, and spotlights one of the four continents involved, North America, by speaking to some of its leading luminaries and getting their thoughts on why this event is so important, how they see their business fitting into the interconnection ecosystem, and what they expect from Atlantic Convergence 2025.
