DATA CENTER WORLD TOUR: BRAZIL

What is the current state of the data center market in your region?

Latin America is an emerging, underserved market, and Brazil leads the charge as the 10th largest ICT market in the world, thanks to advancements in 5G, IoT, and machine learning plus rising data traffic, digitalization, and local customers. By 2025, Brazil will be one of the top five global markets for smartphones. However, LATAM also faces infrastructure / supply chain bottlenecks and fiscal / regulatory complexity.

What are the key drivers and goals of the data center business in your region?

Data centers are digitalization drivers: They provide the necessary infrastructure for storing, processing, and analyzing data, plus secure, reliable connectivity, scalability, and flexibility for cloud environments. Connectivity, latency improvement, flexible, future-proof IT needs, and Brazil’s data localization law (which regulates data storage) have also been reshaping data center demand.
