The APAC region is experiencing remarkable growth in the data center market, and Indonesia wants to become the next digital powerhouse. First and foremost, the country’s increasing Internet penetration and growing digitalization have fueled the data center demand. So too have cloud computing, the deployment of 5G networks, and the widespread adoption of IoT and Big Data technologies. Supportive government policies like the Indonesia 4.0 blueprint have created a favorable environment development, which has attracted hyperscalers, enterprises, and investors. The ever-growing connectivity demands have further propelled this interest, and 19 data centers are in various stages of development.

What are the key drivers and goals of the data center business in your region?

With its sizable population and stable economic growth, Indonesia presents a highly attractive market for international companies. As the leading digital economy among ASEAN countries, Indonesia requires robust digital infrastructure to keep pace, and the BDx Indonesia joint venture is vital in introducing cutting-edge technologies, sustainable solutions, and best practices.
