Ensuring Continuity Amid Disruption

Q&A with Laurie Oswald, Senior Vice President of Sales at Vertiv

Vertiv brings together hardware, software, analytics and ongoing services to ensure its customers’ vital applications run continuously, perform optimally and grow with their business needs.

What are the major disruptors of the past decade?

We have seen significant technology changes in the past decade, from the proliferation of devices to mobile traffic growth to cloud technologies and virtualization. 2020 alone has brought us significant changes, given the COVID-19 pandemic. A large portion of the workforce is working from home, students are learning online, and telemedicine is gaining traction. In our industry, we are seeing rapid adoption of collaboration tools, and companies like Vertiv are using augmented reality to host factory tours and witness testing. This is accelerating digital transformation, and I expect that many of these trends will continue even after people return to the office.

What are the keys to maintaining continuity during times of disruption?

Disruption and transformation Ð no matter the cause Ð impact the way data centers are designed. Your digital infrastructure needs to run continuously, while enabling you to scale and evolve as your business requirements change. Our world is moving quickly, and you need the agility to keep up. During times of disruption, you need confidence in a business partner who is always there for you. At Vertiv, we are ‘always on’ for our customers, to get you and your business through times of change.
