As a serial entrepreneur and executive chairman of a growing company, how do you maintain a work-life balance?
It is important that you make time for yourself, your family, and your friends. Success in life is about balance. I am blessed with good health, a wonderful family and a great group of friends. I enjoy what I do and the engagement with others. I can’t ever imagine not working or being involved in causes. For me, it simply comes down to enjoying what you do and getting the most out of every moment.
The Ole Miss Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame honored me at halftime of the Texas A&M and Ole Miss football game, awarding me the “Distinguished American Award”. The award is given to “the former player who has carried the lessons learned on the football field into a life of service to the community.” It is indeed a special honor for me to be the recipient of this prestigious award.
In addition to working with Ole Miss Athletics, I spend time working with the University of Mississippi’s administration and State of Mississippi leaders toward creating new economic development opportunities across the state. The University of Mississippi, as the flagship university, plays a key role in educating the professionals of tomorrow. Moreover, Mississippi must do more toward embracing technology and this is a new mission for me to spread this message and to create new opportunities within the State.
