Jaquet Droz Unveils The First Ever Grande Seconde Chronograph

Rahul shares with IG Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Jasmine Bedi, how the gig-economy company uses connectivity to support its expanding array of businesses that are revolutionizing the way world currently moves and buys.

Surpassing the success of its past, Jaquet Droz unveils the first ever Grande Seconde Chronograph equipped with an exclusive movement and a monopusher. The innate design of this timepiece is illustrated with high class, while conserving the quintessence that every Grande Seconde model reasserts.

The new launch by the luxury brand comes in the red gold iteration which boasts an eye-catching Grand Feu enamel dial. Its ivory dial is a tribute in wristwatch form to the earliest pocket watches by Pierre Jaquet-Droz. Known best for their enameled dials, the Arabic and Roman numerals on the dial are a striking illustration of the brand’s creative flair: the fine, even strokes of these numerals are produced using Petit Feu enamel, another delicate firing technique. Together the Grand Feu enamel dial and Petit Feu enamel numerals hold the piece true to its original, centuries-old coloring.

The exclusive movement in this iconic timepiece uses a column wheel construction in keeping with the great watchmaking tradition of the chronograph. It also houses a silicon balance spring that guarantees resistance to magnetic fields and temperature variations. The volumes and proportions of this calibre have been tailored to the highly specific geometry of the Grande Seconde.
