InterGlobix Magazine Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Jasmine Bedi, spoke to Bill Jabjiniak to discuss the significance of community engagement for both EdgeCore and the larger data center industry. Outlining the importance of relationships and what meaningful community support really looks like, Jabjiniak offers valuable advice for how data centers can be good neighbors.
What is the importance of the newly created role of SVP of National Community Engagement that you assumed at EdgeCore?
This new role embodies one of EdgeCore’s primary values: being not only a good neighbor, but also an engaged neighbor. Community is at the heart of our data center solutions, and we’re focused on nurturing long-term relationships with each community in which we operate. Wherever we have data center campuses—or wherever we’re thinking of having data center campuses—we want to be an active, positive part of the surrounding ecosystem.
In this role, I will be responsible for community engagement programs nationwide for both existing EdgeCore data center markets (mature markets like Santa Clara, CA and Mesa, AZ) and prospective new markets (like Reno, NV). Working collaboratively with community stakeholders like local organizations and governments, we will establish initiatives that will address key community issues.
