Green seems to be the new blue in the watch industry this season. With brands experimenting with various versions of the hue this year, one of the most revered brands, Rolex, introduced their newest iteration of the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 in a malachite dial.
Malachite, a mineral ore of copper emits a stunning shade of green ombré on the 36mm dial. This is paired with a contrasting 18k yellow gold case with a matching three-piece solid link bracelet inspired by the iconic President’s watch by the brand. The green dial features eight diamonds in 18k yellow gold settings, and two baguette-cut diamonds in 18k yellow gold at the 6 and 9 o’clock. The day and date apertures feature at the 12 and 3 o’clock. The 18k yellow gold hands work with a stop-seconds for the exact time setting. The screw-down winding crown comes with a twin lock double waterproof system, and in addition, the timepiece is water-resistant up to 100 meters.
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 is equipped with the manufacture Calibre 3255 mechanical movement and offers a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Inspired by the first calendar watch introduced by the brand way back in 1956, the green beauty is a must have.
