Ressence Completes the TYPE 1° Trilogy

An ode to the six-year-long collaboration between Ressence and Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the TYPE 1° DX3 has been revealed by the Belgium-based independent watchmaker founded in 2010 by industrial designer Benoît Mintiens. Inspired by Arabic geometric art, the new Ressence timepiece fuses the intricate patterns of Arabic mosaics with the watchmaking art of cloisonné. The new rose gold palette of the TYPE 1° DX3 features a new pebble-looking case made of Grade 5 titanium and a double-domed sapphire crystal top with anti-reflective coating inside.

The convex German silver dial (125mm radius) comes with three eccentric biaxial subdials inclined at 3° (hours) and 4.75° (seconds and day of the week) with cloisonné filled with Super-LumiNova and coated with rose gold. The engraved indications also come filled with Grade A Super-LumiNova.

Limited to 35 pieces, the timepiece of dreams comes equipped with the patented self-winding ROCS 1.3 (Ressence Orbital Convex System) movement. It houses a 36-hour power reserve and is splash-resistant to one ATM. The TYPE 1° DX3 sits on a beige rubber strap that features an Ardillon buckle and retails at 23,600 CHF, or just over 27,000 USD, excluding tax.
