Technical Prowess meets Exceptional Art at Jaquet Droz

Swiss watchmaker Jaquet Droz’ name is synonymous with the fine art of luxury watchmaking. Known best for their spirit of innovation, the Swiss Maison released the Grande Second Skelet-One Tourbillon, a unique piece designed exclusively for the Only Watch 2021Ña charity sale to benefit the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies (Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy).

The exceptionally stunning timepiece marks the 300th anniversary of their founder, Pierre Jaquet-Droz’ birth. Housed with one of the most ingenious complications known to manÑthe tourbillon at the 12 o’clock positionÑthe Grande Second Skelet-One Tourbillon has been entirely handmade and reworked for this special release. The use of titanium and the elimination of sapphire bridges has resulted in a lighter, open-worked cage that allows light to pass through its clean, angular, and symmetrical lines. Featuring a never-before achieved degree of technical ambition and aesthetic, the special edition comes adorned with a plique-à-jour enamel dial that is sure to make heads turn. The 18-carat white gold case features a dial with red, orange, and yellow tones that symbolizes happiness, optimism, and energy. An aesthetically pleasing technical achievement, the Grande Second Skelet-One Tourbillon is 41mm. The sapphire dial sits on a rolled-edge handmade alligator leather strap.
