If its debut in May 2023 at the Cannes Film Festival is any indication, Aston Martin’s latest creation is the height of elegant, sophisticated glamor.
With a bolder, sleeker, more cutting-edge design than any and more of its predecessors, the DB12 combines luxury with power from grille to trunk. The basic specs are impressive: Figures like 0–62 mph in 3.2 seconds, a top speed of 202 mph, 671 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, 590 pound-feet of torque between 2,750 and 6,000 rpm, and four different driver-selectable powertrain calibrations speak to a standout performance.
But where the DB12 really shines—even more than its satin chrome grille or its Alacantara interior—is in its creature comforts and customizations. Standard features alone include conveniences such as a heated rear window, seats with heating and 12-way adjustment, ambient lighting, ergonomically designed controls, 15 in-car speakers, a 10.25-inch high-resolution touchscreen that reacts in milliseconds, and advanced “infotainment” and driver assistance systems that learn with every journey and promote fully comfortable, connected, and safe driving experiences. Throw in optional features like a heated steering wheel, smoked tail lights, a carbon ceramic brake system, and pretty much any external or interior color palette imaginable, and you can construct the most “you” car ever without compromising on quality.
While the very first model sold for 1.6 million USD—a one-of-a-kind edition signed by Aston Martin Formula 1 drivers sold at a charity auction benefitting The Foundation for AIDS Research—the estimates for the everyday model start at around 250,000 USD. Of course, the bespoke customization options and are often virtually limitless, so it’s no surprise that the final price point can be just as variable (and often unlisted online). If, if you have the room to play, all signs point toward this car being both a toy and a tool that’s worth it.
